hidden services cannot be ddosed unless you know the real ip of a seever, which is unlikely under most circumstances unless someone fucked up and left their server insecure, or you do really extensive research (or of course seize the server in which case you can just shut it down, making ddos useless)

Like the other comment said, Tor is very temperamental and can be very slow. Sometimes if you go to your “Vidalia Control Panel” and click, “Use New Identity”, it will speed things up. Don’t forget, you are going through at least 3 servers. Some of them are held together by duct tape.
